RCIA - The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (“RCIA”) is
the process through which unbaptized adults and children who have reached
the age of reason are initiated into the Catholic Church. Baptized but
uncatechized adults and children share a similar journey as they prepare
for full initiation or to be received into full communion. Adults and children in the RCIA process will gather on Sundays, initially after the 8:45 mass and then after the Rite of Acceptance/Welcome, they will be dismissed from the 8:45 mass. Teens will gather on Monday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. For the 2007-2008 sessions, our Adult participants will receive instruction based on the U.S. Catholic Catechism for Adults. We are inviting you, the community of St. Rose, to take a more active role in participating in the initiation process by leading a 45 min. / 1 hour instructional session held on Sundays beginning at 10:15 a.m. Our Curriculum for the year is posted above (click on the link). If you would like to get involved and help others achieve the initiation sacraments by leading a session, please CLICK HERE to volunteer via email to our Catechist Coordinator John Armstrong. The initiation of new members is the work of our whole parish community and this is evident in the support and example given by parishioners, especially those who participate in the various ministries of the RCIA process. |
